After its inception, PSHC has grown steadily. More than 10,000 cardiac catheterization procedures, percutaneous coronary interventions, EP procedures, device implantations (ICD, CRT, permanent pacemakers) and cardiac surgeries have been performed.

The center is equipped with 119 clinical beds including 20 adult coronary care beds, 14 adult cardiovascular intensive care beds, 11 pediatric cardiovascular intensive care beds, 4 pediatric high dependency unit beds, 6 pediatric ward beds, 2 hybrid cath labs for pediatric, adult and vascular cases, 2 diagnostic and interventional adult cath labs, 1 novo lab for adult electrophysiological studies and intervention and 64 adult inpatient ward beds including 20 with telemetry facility.

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories including a Pediatric Hybrid lab are equipped with the latest equipments of the highest specifications for diagnostic and interventional cases and supportive services which make cardiac catheterization laboratories ready to accept all cardiac patients in need of diagnostic or interventional catheterization including acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock patients with assistance of an IABP if needed. These laboratories can handle 15 to 20 cases daily. The renovations of the existing Adult Cardiac Catheter Labs are ongoing and an additional vascular lab will be added. The existing Adult Cardiac Operating Theaters is also under renovation and a new Adult/Vascular Hybrid laboratory as well as 2 state of the art Adult Operating theaters will soon be in use.

The new Cardiac CCU and CVICU have been opened for 2 years now and the CCU bed occupancy remains comparable with International benchmarks. However, we expect an improvement in the adult CVICU bed occupancy once the issues with admitting patients to our hospital can be improved. The new Pediatric Hybrid lab and Operating Theaters are functioning now.

The Center also employs high caliber well trained medical and nursing staff with international reputation.

Active research involvement and education are integral part of PSHC mission that includes participation in international trials, national registries, cardiology and cardiac surgery fellowship programs as well as cardiac nursing diploma and cardiac technologist training programs.
